Kathy Massonne, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified EMDR therapist.  I am enthusiastic about private practice; loving what I do.  I believe all individuals have the right to quality therapy and a therapeutic relationship that works for them.  I believe everyone has the ability to overcome obstacles; and can have true self-acceptance, belonging, and happiness, evolving into your best self.

My approach is to learn about you; I want to understand what is bringing you to therapy. We begin with an intake appointment to gather information. By the session end, we will have agreed upon treatment goals.  We then will work on those goals through the process of specific therapies.

Learn About My Methods

Although I use a variety of therapy approaches, my expertise is in EMDR therapy.  It is both, efficient and effective.  It is an evidence-based therapy that embraces the whole person; mind, body and spirit. It is client driven, allowing you choices during each session.  Emotional disturbances and traumas create negative beliefs about ourselves, and play havoc on our body and spirit as well.  EMDR moves you past negative events, and beliefs.  As people heal, we begin to create positive beliefs, building adaptive thoughts, feelings and behaviors.  Finally, we feel whole. Mind, body, and heart are congruent, allowing us to experience joy and fulfillment in our lives.

I have many years of experience not only in the mental health field, but in child welfare and school social work as well. This vast experience allows me to work confidently with people of all ages and backgrounds.  I specialize in PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, other clinical mental health issues, life transitions, and building healthy relationships.
