Amber Sewell

Counseling Intern

I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Tampa in 2005. Currently, I am a graduate student at Adler Graduate School in the internship phase of my program working towards my master’s degree in Counseling.

I believe that everyone possesses the ability for growth and positive change. The purpose of the therapeutic relationship is to support individuals in a warm, nonjudgmental environment so that can evolve to become who they wish to be. I believe this is accomplished by exploring strengths and developing healthy coping skills which can serve as a solid foundation for lasting positive change. I am excited and honored to be a part of your journey.

Because we process our experiences mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically, I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing which incorporates mindfulness, cultural awareness, encouragement, and other evidence-based practices.

I am learning to work with individuals struggling with a variety of mental health issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and life challenges.

I will be training in EMDR later this month.

My fee for counseling is $25 per session, but I am also able to negotiate that. I do not currently take insurance.
